Fresno State gets a tourney win

The Fresno State Bulldogs got past the New Mexico Lobos to advance to the second round of the Mountain West Tournament. The Dogs were trailing at the half but were able to pick things up in the second half and end the Lobos season with a 85-77 win.

Forward Deon Stroud led the Bulldogs in scoring with 19 points and threw down one of the best dunks you will see in this tournament. It took some time for the Second Team All-Conference Forward Orlando Robinson to get going as he finished with his 10th double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The Dogs also got a big boost from forward Anthony Holland who finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.

For the Lobos, they came out and put up a fight with the Dogs. The Lobos had a one point led at the half, but late in the second half New Mexico just ran out of gas. Guard Jeremiah Francis had a great game with 19 points and 5 assists. Third Team All-Conference Makuach Maluach finished with 16 points but was just 2 for 10 from the field. Now the search for a Head Coach begins for the Lobos.

The Dogs will now face the No.3 seed Colorado State Rams in a Quarterfinals matchup. The game will be on CBS Sports Network at 8:30PM/PT.
