Back in action after an unexpected hiatus.
After COVID-19 concerns forced its cancelation last year, the Arizona Bowl is back and will host the Wyoming Cowboys and the Ohio Bobcats on Friday, December 30 in Tucson.
Wyoming’s selection for the contest was first reported by Ryan Thorburn of the Casper Star-Tribune, though Ohio’s selection was confirmed later by both Action Network’s Brett McMurphy and 7220 Sports. The Cowboys finished the regular season with a 7-5 record, notching victories over Air Force and Utah State before falling just short of a division title against Boise State in November.
Ohio, meanwhile, rebounded under head coach Tim Albin who led the Bobcats to an improved second year under the program from a 3-9 record in 2021 to 9-4 and getting to a bowl game for the first time since 2019.
The Arizona Bowl will be live-streamed at Barstool Sports, kicking off at 2:30 PM Mountain/1:30 PM Pacific.
