The 2018 NFL Draft is a little over a month away and noise about teams looking to change their position in order is beginning to surface. In the most recent move, the New York Jets traded picks with the Indianapolis Colts to move up from sixth overall to third, and a boat load of other picks the Colts received.
By moving up to the third pick, they were able to jump over the Browns fourth and Broncos fifth selections. With the big three quarterbacks in the draft being Josh Allen, Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold, the Jets were able to ensure that they will have a chance to draft one of the prospects even if both teams ahead of them take quarterbacks.
However, there are a few reasons the Jets might not take a quarterback. They signed Josh McCown and Teddy Bridgewater each to a one-year deal. McCown has been a barely servicable quarterback and Bridgewater has not played significant playing time since 2015 as he suffered a training camp injury in 2016 where Bridgewater nearly lost his leg.
A one-year deal for both probably means the Jets take a quarterback at three but there is also the hope that Bridgewater might turn the franchise signal-caller some thought prior to the injury.

Where will Allen fall?
USA Today-Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz: 3rd to New York Jets (3/19)
NFL.com-Bucky Brooks: 12th to Buffalo Bills (3/19)
DraftWire- Jacob Infante: 3rd to New York Jets (3/19)
CBS Sports-Chris Trappaso: 1st to Cleveland Browns (3/19)
Walterfootball.com: 1st to Cleveland Browns (3/17)
After an outstanding combine, the Josh Allen train is running at full speed. Many mock drafts view the Jets trade to third overall as an opportunity to take Allen. John Elway and the Denver Broncos have made their interest in Allen known and the Jets may have feared that they wouldn’t have had a chance to take him if they stayed behind Denver.
