Colorado State was able to convert each of its final four field goal attempts in the last three minutes. CSU trailed LBSU 59-57 with just under four minutes remaining, and after a go-ahead layup by Long Beach’s Deishaun Booker with four seconds left, CSU needed a basket for the win.

CSU went to its go-to guy.

Prentiss Nixon grabbed the inbounds pass, paced up the floor, went behind the back with his dribble, and drilled the game-winning shot to save Colorado State Saturday afternoon.

Nixon was one of four Rams in double figures – Deion James (14 points), Che Bob (13 points), and J.D. Paige (11 points) also contributed in the scoring category.

Temidayo Yussuf (18 points) led all scorers for Long Beach State.

Colorado State wraps up non-conference play with a modest 7-6 record, its third consecutive victory. The Rams will be on the road to open league competition with Boise State on Wednesday, December 27.
