Queta signed earlier this week and is immediately eligible
Neemias Queta, a 6-11 big man by the way of Portugal, has officially signed with Utah State, per a release made by the university.
Queta will have four years of collegiate eligiblity, beginning this fall. He figures to play a major role in the Aggie frontcourt due to his international experience and Utah State’s much-needed size down low.
Queta played for the Portuguese U18 and U20 national teams, averaging 14.3 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game and a tournament-best 2.9 blocks per game with the U20’s.
At 6-11 with a 7-5 wingspan, Queta is the most opposing big man on the Aggie roster. Prior to his signing, only three other players on the Utah State roster were listed at 6-9 or taller, combining to play a total of 86 minutes last year.
If ready, Queta figures to either start or be one of the first players off the bench for Craig Smith’s squad this season.
