Utah State is rolling past Hawaii at the half leading 28-3 at the half but a bigger issue is at hand. Starting quarterback Jordan Love left the game with an apparent injury which might be a concussion.
Heading into the locker room for the half, head coach Matt Wells did not know much and said, “they are checking him out right now.”
For the game, Love was 10 of 13 for 127 yards and had a touchdown, plus another 14 yards and a score on the ground.
The final two drives which Love sat out saw backup Henry Colombi in the game and he completed one pass for no yards. The first drive was a three-and-out and the second series had Colombi just take a knee to end the half.
With the Aggies up 28-3, they are in good position to win the game if Love does not play at all during the second half. However, Utah State can not just play it safe because this Hawaii offense has the ability to score points in a hurry.
Colombi dose get the start in the second half.
