Pearre, a senior, has played 94 games with Utah State the past three seasons

Utah State guard Julion Pearre has suffered a torn calf, Cache Valley Daily’s Mitch Henline reported Friday evening.

According to Henline, Pearre will miss 4-6 weeks with the injury. He had the injury in last week’s practice.

Pearre is a senior guard who expects to have a significant role off the bench for the Aggies in 2017-18. He played in all 32 USU games last season, averaging 3.9 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. Pearre recorded a combined 33 starts his first two seasons in Logan.

The injury bug continues for Utah State. On September 30, MWC Wire reported that the Aggies starting center Norbert Janicek would miss the upcoming season after receiving surgery to his knee.

Utah State, which finished eighth in the Mountain West last season with a 15-17 (7-11) record, saw star duo Jalen Moore (16.4 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 2.6 APG) and Shane Rector (7.8 PPG, 2.0 RPG, 2.3 APG) graduate in the spring. The Aggies will have to rely heavily on returning guards Koby McEwen and Sam Merrill due to the lost depth of Pearre for the first month of the season

Utah State will have its regular season opener Friday against Weber State on the road.
