Why UNLV Will Win

If UNLV can excute the same game plan that they did against SDSU against SJSU, this game shouldn’t be close.  Brandon McCoy and Shakur Juiston were the two best players on the court, each tallying 21 points, and both were dominant.  When they both play like this, they are a team that can play with any team in the country, and SJSU doesn’t have the size or skill in the front court to keep up.  Also, look for the Rebels to go heavey on size.  Overall, they are one of, if not the biggest teams in the conference, and for the first time this season, they started freshman forward Tervell Beck (6’7″, 230lbs) alongside McCoy and Juiston.  This is a formibable frontcourt and if it gave SDSU trouble, which doesn’t bode well for SJSU.

Why San jose state Will Win

Ryan Welage.  In the Spartans overtime loss to Wyoming, the Spartan forward played all 45 minutes and scored a career high 37 points.  Furthermore, he already knows he can score against this Rebels defense.  If he’s as dominant as he was against Cowboys, it will force the Runnin’ Rebels defense to key on him, which will give guard Noah Baumann open looks from 3-pt range.  For UNLV fans this probably sounds familiar as it’s exactly what happened over the last 5 minutes of these two teams previous matchup in which the Spartans were able to force over time before ultimately succombing to the more talents Rebels.
