Why UNLV Will Win
If the Tigers are considered small when compared to other D-I foes they have faced so far this season, then they are miniscule when compared to the roster that UNLV will be trotting out on Saturday night. The Tigers feature one 7 footer in Namdi Okonkwo, but he comes off the bench and only averages 14 minutes per game. Their tallest starter is Jack Williams coming in at 6’8″, and he averages 9.4 ppg. The Tigers undersized front court will have thier handsful with UNLV’s pair of star forwards in Brandon McCoy and Shakur Juiston. Both of whom are averaging double doubles on the season so far, with McCoy also checking in as the Mountain West Conference’s leading scorer so far during non-conference play at 20.2 points per game. McCoy has exceeded the lofty expectations so far this season, and look for another big night on Saturday.
