UNLV has big third quarter to get the win
After surprising Fresno State on the road last week, The Rebels returned home where they took on the Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors.
In the first half UNLV was held to only once score, but luckily their defense held things down on their end, only allowing Hawai’i two first half field goals.
With the game tied coming out of the half, the Warriors struck first, scoring on a 20 yard pass from quarterback Dru Brown to receiver Dylan Collie, giving Hawai’i the 13-7 lead.
The lead didn’t last long though, as on the ensuing drive, quarterback Johnny Stanton (who was starting again in place of an injured Armani Rogers) threw a 52 yard pass to receiver Brandon Presley. UNLV wasn’t done though. They would score two more times in the quarter to put themselves up 28-13 heading into the fourth.

As the game began to wind down, the Rebels went conservative, and as a result only scored three more points. Luckily, and despite Hawai’i pulling closer with ten of their own points, the extra field goal was just enough to give UNLV their second victory in as many weeks.
On the day, Stanton threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Lexington Thomas ran for 98 yards on 24 carries. Most importantly though, the Rebels now sit at 4-5 and have tied their win total from last year.
Next Friday the Rebels will host BYU.
