The MWC Tournament Champs Move On to NCAA Regional
The San Diego State Aztecs might go to the Lubbock Regional if d1baseball.com is correct in their assumptions. It’s a good college baseball site so who am I to argue? If that works out to be true, then they will be facing Texas Tech (#12 and the host team), New Mexico State (a team that should be familiar to MWC fans), and Texas A&M. NMSU and SDSU are projected to be the #4 and #3 seeds respectively which always makes for a tough road.
The 16 hosts for regionals were announced Sunday but the 48 others are a little up in the air. As we all suspected the MWC got little respect (and deservedly so) by getting only one bid. Are you sitting down? The SEC may get as many as 11! Why don’t they just have all the games at SEC fields? I could go on but why bother.
The Tournament begins on Friday, June 1st so there’s plenty of time for discussion and argument. The final picks, as I write this, have not been announced.
