Could the matchup in Reno decide the West?

San Jose State is arguably coming off of their best season in school history. While there are lofty expectations in San Jose, the pressure will be immense every single game.

Key matchups such as when the Spartans travel to USC. While this game will be incredibly difficult to win, as long as San Jose State can put up a fight and set the tone for their season, this game in the coliseum can be a positive. The Spartans also have a big game against San Diego State at home this year. San Jose State was able to come out on top last season beating the Aztecs 28 – 17. This will be a real test against a West division opponent.

Without a doubt, the most important game on San Jose State’s schedule is on November 6th at Mackay Stadium. Nevada is the favorite coming out of the West division despite the fact that San Jose State are defending Mountain West Champions.

The Spartans also have to travel to Reno to play the Wolf Pack. While it may not be the most packed stadium in the conference it’s never a cakewalk playing in Reno in November. This will also be a must-watch game.

Nick Starkel and Carson Strong are both poised to have monster seasons and could have amazing games. The score was 30 – 20 last season, but expect the point total to be more this year. This game has true Mountain West Conference championship implications. These two teams will sit atop the West Division and this game alone could decide who represents the West in the championship game.
