Why Utah State Will Win
The Aggies enter Wednesday night having finished 7-6 in non-conference play, a win-loss record that may not be entirely indicative of USU’s competitiveness through 13 games. Utah State has had a number of close calls (losing to Weber State by 6, losing to Portland State by 4, losing to Valparaiso by 7), but Tim Duryea’s squad remains solid at home, winning five of its first six in Logan. Finding an answer for San Jose State’s significantly taller rotation could be a problem for Utah State, but the Aggies have far more shooters and scoring ability than their counterpart in SJSU. Look for DeAngelo Isby to stay hot off the bench and lead Utah State to a 1-0 start in league play.
