The Spartans have a quick turnaround after Saturday’s victory against Northern Arizona. San Jose State will be on the road for the next 3 games, although all 3 will be in the bay area. First up is Stanford who has a very young team as over 80% of their scoring and rebounding has come from first or second year players. Sophomore Kezie Okpala currently leads the team in both points and rebounds per game with 15.9 and 6.

The Cardinal are led by first-year head coach Jerod Haase, Coach Haase came over from the University of Alabama Birmingham where he led the Blazers to back to back 20 win seasons and a bid in the NCAA tournament. Stanford this season has only a 5-4 record but 3 out of those 4 losses have come against top 25 teams which include an overtime loss at Kansas. The Cardinal were picked 9th in the preseason media poll but facing any PAC 12 opponent will be a tough game for the Spartans. Overall San Jose State is 13-38 against Stanford with the last game being played in 2006, which is a bit odd considering it is less than a 30-minute bus ride from Palo Alto to San Jose. After two consecutive wins against teams that were ranked in the 300s in the Ken Pom rankings, Stanford will be a real test for the Spartans as they come in ranked 103.
