Aloha Stadium gets another game

San Jose State football is unable to participate in contact sports due to it being in Santa Clara County which has restrictions through Dec. 21. The Spartans final two football games are at home and this week’s contest is against Hawaii.

There was speculation the game could be played in Las Vegas but with New Mexico using Sam Boyd Stadium that seemingly was not an option, so the game will be flipping home stadiums with Hawaii now hosting San Jose State.

We know the game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 5 as scheduled but kick time is up in the air. Typically, games at Hawaii are played at 6 p.m. local time and that could be the case as this game even if played in San Jose was going to be on the Team1Sports app or on Spectrum PPV, so there is not TV obligation from a national network.

The original kick time was 2 p.m. pacific but that would be noon local and that kick time is still an option but with the late change of location, it might be pushed back to give San Jose State a few more hours to adjust its schedule.

There is no word for the finale which is set for Friday. Dec. 11 against Nevada and the easy scenario would be to have that game be played in Reno.
