The Aztecs go on the road home for a game against the Missouri Valley Conference preseason favorite in the Illinois State Redbirds.  San Diego State will look to move their win streak to two games after beating the Jackson State Tigers by 43 points.

San Diego State is led by NBA prospect Jalen McDaniels who is averaging 15.0 ppg and 6.8 rpg. Second in scoring for the Aztecs is senior guard Devin Watson who is scoring about 14.7 ppg and 4.3 assists.

San Diego State has a very balanced scoring attack with four players averaging in double figures. In addition to Watson and Mcdaniels strong also sophomores Jordan Schakel and Matt Mitchell are in double figures. Schakel is averaging 10.7 ppg and Mitchell is scoring 13.3.

Illinois State is 5-2 on the year and have some pretty quality wins.  The Redbirds most notable wins against schools like Boise State, Akron, and Florida Gulf Coast. They lost by five to Georgia and lost by 11 to Belmont.

The Redbirds are led by Malik Yarbrough who is scoring 16.6 ppg and 8.3 rpg. Another great player on Illinois State is forward Phil Payne who is scoring 14 per contest and grabbing 5.4 rebounds. As a team, Illinois State is scoring 75.9 points per game and allowing their opponents to score 73.9.
