Caroline is the son of former NFL defensive end Simeon Rice

The #2 player in the MWC Wire Basketball Countdown is Nevada forward Jordan Caroline.

Caroline is an athletic junior Wolf Pack forward that was placed on the media’s all-conference first team. Last season, Caroline averaged 15.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 steals+blocks per game and started 34 games for the conference champions.

At 6-7, 235 pounds with freakish athletic ability, the Southern Illinois transfer has generated some interest from NBA scouts. He’s an excellent in-and-out threat, converting 101 field goals at the rim, 45 from two-point range, and 28 from deep, per Hoop-Math. He also crashes the glass (top 500 in offensive and rebounding percentage) and has a knack for drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line (top 100 in fouls draw per 40 minutes and free throw rate).

Look for Caroline to be the heart and soul of this year’s Wolf Pack squad. He expects to lead the in points and rebounds, and will be the go-to guy both on and off the floor. Caroline will contend for the player of the year award and could play in his second NCAA Tournament in as many seasons.
