Watchlist season continues this morning with the unveiling of the Rimington Trophy watchlist. Given annually to the nation’s best center, there are just two names from the Mountain West on this year’s preseason list.
Nevada’s Sean Krepsz appeared on last summer’s Rimington watchlist, as well, and he played a key role in the Wolf Pack’s offensive surge in 2017, playing in all 12 games for a line that allowed a sack rate of under 2% with veteran quarterback Ty Gangi under center and ranked fourth in the Mountain West in offensive yards per play.
Utah State’s Quin Ficklin, meanwhile, emerged as an anchor for one of the conference’s most experienced units by playing in all 13 games for the Aggies last fall. That offensive line, with Jordan Love under center, allowed a sack rate of about 3% and ranked above the national average in Stuff Rate (plays stopped at or behind the line of scrimmage) and Power Success Rate (success in short-yardage situations).

Last year’s Rimington Trophy winner was Ohio State’s Billy Price.
