Although this game ended in a blowout, the Spartans were able to keep it close in the first half. Granite, much of that had to do with Wyoming shooting 3-12 from the three in the first half. Usually Wyoming would have hit most of those shots as many of them were open looks. Still the Cowboys were able to gain a 10 point lead going into the 2nd half mostly from Justin James who was a perfect 7/7 from the field and had 20 points in total at that point. With 2:19 left in the first half the score was 34-30 Wyoming. From that point on, for the next five minutes of the game, San Jose State did not hit a shot. When the second half opened Wyoming went on a 11-0 run which would end up being to much for the Spartans as most of the second half was not close. San Jose State’s Jaycee Hillsman and Ryan Welage accounted for all 30 of the Spartans first half points. Hillsman would go on to score a career high 24 points in the loss. An interesting stat, with 16:12 left in the game, the third Spartan was able to score, Caleb Simmons hit two free throws.

Whats next:
Wyoming will move in the Mountain West Tournament playing the #3 seed New Mexico on Thursday. The pokes did end up shooting 50% from the field for the game against San Jose State and considering the last time these teams played the score was 114-119, I will be surprised if it is not a high scoring game.

Although they played in many close games at home against the conference, it did not translate to wins for San Jose state as they will go home with a 4 win season. The Spartans will have a full off season to try and grasp Jean Prioleau’s offense. This will hopefully cut some turnovers down, which was one of the areas that the Spartans struggled with all year.
