Josh Allen is compared to Matthew Stafford
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. is doubling down on his love for former Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen. Prior to the Senior Bowl, Kiper pegged Allen to the Cleveland Browns at No. 1 and when asked about numbers Kiper said “stats are for losers.”
The first few days of Senior Bowl practices were rough for Allen with a accuracy issues and analysts split on if Allen is good or not.
Kiper joined ESPN’s NFL Live to tout the aware of Allen’s game which everyone agrees upon: arm strength. He compares the Wyoming quarterback to current Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Umm… sure.
To be fair, Allen has shown improvement throughout the week but when comparing to Stafford is interesting. When going back and looking at college numbers for Stafford when he was at Georgia there was improvement every year in completion percentage, yards per attempt and adjusted yards per attempt. Whereas Allen’s numbers did not get better year over year.
Kiper going all in on Allen has shades of him saying he’d retire if Jimmy Clausen does not become a successful NFL quarterback.
