Who will be Wyoming’s QB in the bowl game.

Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen’s status is still uncertain for the Cowboys bowl game vs Central Michigan on Dec. 22. Allen has stated that he will play if he is healthy. The common recovery time for an AC joint sprain like Allen’s is approximately 6 weeks. The game in Boise against the Chippawas will be 6 weeks from the date of his injury.

Allen answered questions about his health and draft status at his press conference on Monday, below are some of his notable quotes.

On his injury:

“My shoulder is getting better day by day… It’s still not where I want it to be or where it needs to be but the ball is coming out nicely. There are some throws where I kind of feel some pain and some where I don’t feel anything.”

On interest to play in bowl game:

“Nothing has changed there. If I’m 100 percent, I’m playing in the game. I owe that to this university and this team. It’s something that I want to do. I’m not the type of guy that is going to sit out just to sit out because of what the future might hold. I’m definitely doing what’s in the best interest of this team.”

On the trend of players sitting out bowl games and if it has influenced his decision:

“No. The way I look at it, you have 12 other games and what’s one more going to do?  I understand that it might be a meaningless game, there’s no conference championship on the line but there’s a still lot at stake here. Going into our last game and getting an 8th win, it helps out with recruiting, it helps out with the whole conference…This is something that there is a lot on the line that people don’t really take into account.”

On decision about whether this will be his final game for Wyoming:

“We’re still trying to figure some things out. The future is what it is. We’ll control what we can control and that’s focusing on this one.”

“It would be nice to know after the game or at least a few days after the game after I’ve decompressed for the season, but we’ll be focusing on this one first.”
