Josh Allen Wants ‘To Be The Guy That Turns Around The Browns’
The Wyoming QB discusses the draft process.

Allen is just being nice to the local hosts, right?
One of the most scrutinized players in the upcoming NFL Draft will be former Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen. He is currently at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, and he spoke with Bull and Fox on Cleveland’s 92.3 The Fan.
Of course, with the show being based out of Ohio the topic focused on the Browns but also on Allen’s rise from a player who had very little interest out of high school and JUCO to potential first-round draft pick.
Allen has the body that NFL scouts want in a quarterback and he officially measured out at 6-4 and 7/8 inches, 237 pounds and a hand size of 10 1/8 inches.
The interview itself was going great and Allen was doing a good job but then he dropped this line.
“Stats are for losers and the one thing I’d like to point out, while at Wyoming, we won games and I definitely think that’s how quarterbacks are judged in the NFL,” Allen said.
Up until that point the interview was going quite well and it is hard to tell if Allen was joking since that is the same thing that ESPN’s Mel Kiper said after his first mock draft where he put the Cowboy QB at the top, but Allen seemed more serious than not on that comment.

As for that winning comment, Allen did go 15-9 as a starter and won a Mountain Division title. So… a winning record indeed.
One thing that was painfully clear was that Allen was coached up in the interview because when asked what he could improve he went in-depth about specifics about mechanics, throwing motion and other buzz words he was definitely coached on to say when talking about his game.
Allen does recognize that he has work to do in his game and while he may want to play right away as a competitor, he also realizes sitting for bit might be in his best interest.
With this being an interview with a Cleveland-based program Allen was asked about the hapless Browns franchise which has a record of 1-31 over the past two years.
“If I’m fortunate enough to become a Cleveland Brown, you can expect everything from me,” Allen said during the Monday interview. “I want to be the guy that turns around the Cleveland Browns. The guy that does that is going to be immortalized in Cleveland forever.”
That is a fact. If Allen can be the guy to lead Cleveland to even a playoff berth the town might build a statue for him, and who knows what would happen if he was the quarterback to lead the Browns to its first ever Super Bowl victory.
