Norvell to get $3 million for assistants.

Jay Norvell was introduced as the 24th head football coach in Colorado State history on Tuesday. His introductory press conference was full of quotable material, but the one that stuck out the most was: “It’s not a parallel move in that regard. To me, it’s a major upgrade of support.”

Now onto the contract details. Norvell signed a 5 year contract for $9 million total. This contract makes him the highest paid coach in the Mountain West ahead of Craig Bohl who was making $1.6 million this season at Wyoming. He also gets a $3 million pool to pay assistant coaches. Norvell received just $1.6 million at Nevada. Per Kevin Lytle of the Coloradoan the contract details are as follows.
