McDaniels, Queta will head to Chicago

San Diego State’s Jalen McDaniels and Utah State’s Neemias Queta have been invited to this year’s NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, per release.

The full list of combine entrants is below.

McDaniels, a redshirt sophomore, played two seasons with the Aztecs before announcing his intentions to head to the NBA. Unlike some early entrants, McDaniels has his heart set on the next level and has zero intentions of returning to college.

In two seasons, McDaniels averaged 13.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game. The Federal Way, Washington, native converted 58.6 percent of his field goal attempts as a freshman but that number dipped to 46.6 as a sophomore. McDaniels was listed as a three-star recruit out of the class of 2016.

Queta, a freshman, appeared in 35 games this past season for Utah State, starting in each of his outings. The Portuguese big man announced his declaration for the NBA Draft last month and has full intention of remaining a pro and foregoing the rest of his college career.

Queta averaged 11.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.4 blocks per game over the course of the season. He also made 61.4 percent of his field goal attempts, helping guide Utah State to the NCAA Tournament. Queta was unranked out of high school and signed with the Aggies late last summer.
