The early national signing period is upon us and on the eve of the first time prep athletes can put their name on the dotted line, there is possibly a game-changing development with Timmy Chang’s Hawaii program.

According to 247Sports Crystal Ball projections, former Clemson Tiger quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei is 100% to Hawaii. This would be huge for Chang and the rebuild for the Warriors program that struggled mightily this year.

This news is by no means official and it may not even happen on the early signing day as this is a transfer portal move. Other schools that have been in the mix for Uiagalelei were Oregon and UCLA, but the former returns Bo Nix and the latter landed a big-time QB in Dante Moore which will be the Bruins highest-rated player ever.

Fresno State has even been tossed around as a name where he could battle for the open job that will be vacated by Jake Haener.

The former five-star never lived up to the hype at Clemson, which is hard given all-time greats like Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence won national titles. He just wasn’t the answer for the Tigers.

Uiagalelei will finish his time at Clemson by completing 515 of his 860 passes for 5,861 yards with 36 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.

A move to Hawaii would take the spotlight off of him and allow him to just play football and craft his game. This could be a huge boost for the Warriors program that is in desperate need of some good news and this would be it for Chang as he enters his second year on the job.
