The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (8-5, 4-4 MW) upset the San Diego State Aztecs (7-5,4-4 MW) by the score of 31-30 after a pass from quarterback Ryan Agnew to tight end Kahale Warring fell incomplete.  Aztec fans were crushed as their team had just  lost three straight games to end the regular season.

Hawaii had 516 yards of total offense, which included 482 passing yards by star quarterback Cole McDonald. Wide receiver Cedric Byrd had 6 catches for 140 yards and one touchdown. Another wide out Jojo Ward had six receptions for 120 yards and also a touchdown.

San Diego State were led by senior quarterback Christian Chapman and junior running back Juwan Washington. Chapman was 9-19 for 149 yards and one  passing touchdown. While, Washington had 31 carries for 159 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Hawaii was up at halftime 24-14 over San Diego State. Mcdonald was torching the Aztecs. SDSU came back and had a shot to win the game. After backup QB Ryan Agnew came in he led them to tie the game. After getting the ball back with about 4 minutes left and drving down the field, John Baron II had a chance at a 32 yard field goal to win it. To everyone surprise he missed it, wide right.

In overtime, Hawaii got the ball first and scored.  It was helped by a huge 3rd down play that was questionable to say the least. On the field and on replay it looked like the wide receiver clearly dropped it. On the Aztecs first play of overtime, they scored on 25 yard rushing touchdown by Juwan Washington. SDSU decided to go for two and for the win. San Diego State ran a questionable fade play to Kahale Warring but he and Agnew couldn’t connect and Hawaii had won.

Both teams are both bowl eligible, so next Sunday on December 2nd  they will know if they are in a bowl game or not and which team they will finish off the season against.
