Hawai’i starts first quarter of season strong at 3-1
Hawai’i special teams had an eventful night. It was good with a blocked extra point after UCA’s first touchdown. It was also bad with two muffed punt returns losing one of them in Hawaii’s 11 yard line.

It was a good thing the ‘Bows defense showed up holding Central Arkansas to only a field goal after that turnover. Even though Hawai’i ended halftime with a 28-9 lead it seemed both the offense and defense were timid in their game plan.
With that the Bears scored another touchdown with Carlos Blackman keeping his legs churning and spinning around defenders for a 23 yard touchdown. After that the defense turned up the heat hurrying Bear’s QB Breylin Smith and keeping them scoreless in the fourth quarter.
To seal the deal the Rainbow Warriors marched down the field one more time with Cole McDonald hitting true freshman receiver Lincoln Victor twice in the red zone. Victor used all of his 5-10 165 pound frame to blow his way for his first career touchdown.
Hawai’i will start their Mountain West West division run Saturday night under the lights on national television against a hot Nevada team who may have re-found their dual threat QB in Christian Solano.
