Can the run-and-shoot stay hot against Wyoming without McDonald?
The Hawaii Warriors have shocked the prognosticators thus far by racing out to a 2-0 start in Mountain West play, but they’ll have to try and stay out in front of the West division, against the Wyoming Cowboys, without quarterback Cole McDonald.

The nature of the injury, as you might expect, has been kept as vague as possible:

This means that Chevan Cordeiro, who was listed on the two-deep behind McDonald heading into Saturday’s night, will get his first career start. The true freshman, one of the highlights of Hawaii’s 2018 recruiting class, has familiarity with the run-and-shoot from his time at St. Louis High School in Honolulu. He threw for 3,130 yards and 29 touchdowns as a senior last fall, but he’ll face a much tougher test against a star-laden Wyoming defense that hopes to rebound from a lopsided defeat to Boise State last Saturday.
