Warriors hold of Wildcats rally.
What. A. Game.
Hawaii held off a late rally by Arizona and it came down to one fitting dramatic play to decide the game.
The Warriors led 45-38 and after driving down the field, the Wildcats had 10 seconds left and one play left and quarterback Khalil Tate took off running from the 31-yard line and had the goal line in his view but was tackled just feet shy of the goal line.
Game over. Hawaii wins 45-38.

There was no way to write an adequate lede for this game between Arizona and Hawaii. It was re-written too many times due to the absurd awesomeness of this game.
For anyone — ahem, Pat Forde of Yahoo — who says that Week 0 should be canned did not watch the beautiful mess that was this game.
While the game was decided by that single yard, these two offenses were nearly identical.

We have said all offseason that even if Hawaii is not good they will at the very least be an interesting team. That is what the Warriors were late Saturday as the hosted Arizona in its Week 0 game.
Maybe this team can be both.
Good thing the Warriors have struck a deal for home games to be shown on Facebook this fall to those in the mainland so we can track this Warriors team more closely.
This game saw it all with points, turnovers, fourth-down conversions and even having Warriors bench Cole McDonald after he had four interceptions and inserted him with redshirt freshman Chevan Cordeiro.

Oh… and this happened late in the game to add to the craziness.

This was the Warriors first Pac-12 victory since they defeated Colorado 38-29 back on Sept. 1, 2015. This win also gives the Mountain West its fifth straight win over a Pac-12 team.
The numbers in this game were just off the charts. The player of the game has to go to Hawaii wide receiver Cedric Byrd who caught 14 passes for 224 yards and had four touchdowns.
Hawaii also won this game by turning the ball over six times.
There were so many fun highlights from this game.
