Teams in the Super Regionals
Not a lot to say as a lot of Middies (my cute name for mid majors) got eliminated. Anyway, here’s the list so far.
Washington won the Conway Regional and moves on.
Vanderbilt won the Clemson Regional
North Carolina won the Chapel Hill Regional
Stetson won the DeLand Regional
Auburn won the Raleigh Regional
Minnesota won the Minneapolis Regional
Texas Tech won the Lubbock Regional
Arkansas won the Fayetteville Regional
Texas won the Austin Regional
Oregon State won the Corvallis Regional
Fullerton State won the Palo Alto Regional
Those regionals that will be decided Monday:
Athens Regional will pit Duke against Georgia
Tallahassee Regional will have Mississippi State playing Oklahoma.
Oxford Regional is a mess due to rain. Right now it looks like Ole Miss against the winner of the Missouri State – Tennessee Tech game. The elimination game will be late Sunday night with Ole Miss waiting in the wings for the Monday game.
Gainesville Regional will have Florida against Florida Atlantic and emotions will be running high I’m sure.
Greenville Regional will have South Carolina against UNC-Wilmington
As of Sunday night we have two mid majors in Super Regionals; Stetson and Fullerton State. Both of these teams won their respective regionals on the road. Stetson is voted in (by me) as the darling of the fans. Teams now bid to host a Super Regional. More on all this later.
But wait, here’s an update. In the Oxford Regional it will be Ole Miss against Tennessee Tech today. In other words, for the games to be played, root for Tennessee Tech, Florida Atlantic, and UNC-Wilmington. Get those middies in.
