The new-look Bulldogs will take on a power conference opponent in the Wooden Legacy

The 2018 Wooden Legacy bracket was unveiled Wednesday afternoon, pitting Fresno State against Northwestern in the tournament’s first round.

The game will take place on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 22) and can be seen on ESPNU at 1:30pm PT. Fresno State will then play either La Salle or Miami FL in the tournament’s second round. Other participants in the event include Hawaii (the tournament host), Grand Canyon, Seton Hall, and Utah.

Northwestern went 15-17 last season, a year after its first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The Wildcats, coached by Chris Collins, will be led by Dererk Pardon, who averaged 11.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

Fresno State first-year head coach Justin Hutson will hope to carry on his previous Wooden Legacy success. As an assistant coach under Steve Fisher in 2013, Justin Hutson and the San Diego State Aztecs captured the Wooden Legacy title over Marquette.
