Also, Fresno State Football could have its own day, too.

Local government is taking action to honor Fresno State football

The Fresno County Board of Supervisors held a meeting on Feb. 6 and on the agenda was a proposed proclamation to make Feb. 6 Jeff Tedford Day and also make Fresno State Football have a day as well.

Jeff Tedford Day was approved which means every Feb. 6 will honor the Fresno State football coach for his amazing one-year turnaround with the Bulldogs program. In 2016, the Bulldogs went from winning one game to a 10-win season in his first year.

Fresno State went on to be ranked during the year, winning the West Division, appearing in the Mountain West title game and winning the Hawaii Bowl over Houston.

As for honoring the football team with a day, well… this is awkward as that proclomation was not approved but it also was not rejected.

The notes from the meeting do not have a final action, so maybe the next meeting on Feb. 20 will have a final resolution on making a day to celebrate Fresno State football.
