Fresno State will play again Sunday

A last-second dunk by Zach Johnson propels Miami to a thrilling 78-76 victory over Fresno State in the Wooden Legacy semifinals.

Johnson, who led the Hurricanes with 24 points, skied for a thunderous tip-jam off a missed three-point attempt by Chris Lykes with 0.6 seconds on the clock. Despite an unexpected but sizable lead in the rebounding category (43-29 in favor of Fresno State), the Bulldogs failed to block out when it mattered most in the final seconds.

Fresno State was led by Braxton Huggins and Deshon Taylor. The two combined for 53 of the 73 Bulldogs points. Huggins had 28 and Taylor had 25.

Friday’s matchup was a game full of runs. Changing leads 12 times, Miami and Fresno State went back and forth throughout the afternoon. The largest advantage of the game was just six points.

Fresno State (2-2) will play the loser of the Seton Hall/Hawaii matchup on Sunday.
