Leon Rice got a big commit.

Boise State basketball is not a traditional hoops power but they landed a big commitment in four-star guard RJ Keene out of Tomball, Texas.

The 190-pounder put up 20 points, hauled in six rebounds, three assists, and averaged two steals per game last season for Concordia Lutheran. He also is a sharp-shooter and made 135 from beyond the three-point arc.

The way he committed was very 2020. With COVID-19 causing havoc across the country, Keene committed not with a hat but he put on a Boise State mask to show is a commitment to the Broncos program.

Basically, he is an instant legend for Boise State.

He spoke with the Idaho Statesman regarding picking Boise State and he fell in love with the school.

“I just knew Boise was the right fit all along, and I could care less if another school hits me up. I’m fully committed, and if I could, I’d sign right now.”

Keene is the second commitment for Boise State’s 2021 class, the other is forward Tyson Degenhart.
