A meal was reportedly paid for by ASM’s Christian Dawkins
A second Mountain West player has been tied to college basketball’s federal investigation.
Former UNLV guard Patrick McCaw has been linked to sports agency ASM in receiving improper benefits. ASM’s Christian Dawkins reportedly provided improper benefits to McCaw, according to the Yahoo Sports report.
A document outlining ASM’s financial records indicate that McCaw and his family received a meal of $178.01 on March 23, 2016, via Dawkins.
McCaw’s playing career with UNLV had already finished prior to the alleged meal with Dawkins. UNLV’s final game of the 2016 season occurred on March 10, a 95-82 loss to Fresno State in the Mountain West Tournament. Current head coach Marvin Menzies was not yet with the UNLV program at the time of the incident.
McCaw spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons with UNLV, appearing in 65 games while averaging 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. He was selected in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft, and has played both of his two professional seasons with the Golden State Warriors.

McCaw’s agent is Bill Duffy of BDA Sports Management. ASM has not been contractually affiliated with McCaw.
It is unknown at this time if McCaw’s alleged improper benefits will result in any repercussions for the UNLV program.
Earlier Friday morning, current San Diego State forward Malik Pope was also linked to Yahoo Sports’ report. He reportedly received $1,040 from ASM agents.
Both programs have yet to comment publicly on Friday’s reports.
