Isby reportedly quit the team during the Mountain West Tournament

Former Utah State guard DeAngelo Isby has formally requested his release from the unversity, per his Twitter page.

Isby spent this past season with the Aggies, averaging 8.4 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per game and 1.1 assists per game. He appeared 28 times this season, starting in five of those appearances.

Isby’s decision to transfer from Utah State has appeared to be a foregone conclusion for quite some time now. He reportedly quit the team prior to Utah State’s semifinal game at the Mountain West Tournament against New Mexico due to lack of playing time. After Utah State announced the firing of three-year head coach Tim Duryea last week, Isby’s time in Logan appeared to be all but over.

It is unknown at this time whether Isby plans to transfer to another program or play professionally. If he does choose to transfer, Isby would have one year of collegiate eligibility remaining.

Utah State is currently in the process of signing of new head coach due to the vacancy left by Duryea.
