Colorado State earns their second road win of the year.

Prentiss Nixon came back from an injury scare to lead the Rams with 26 points. Nixon went down in the first half clutching his knee, but came back near the end of the first half with a full length leg brace on. While the brace affected his lateral movement all game, Nixon was able to perform at about 90%.

Che Bob with 19 points and Nico Carvacho with 10 points joined Nixon in double figures. Bob also contributed seven rebounds, while Carvacho had himself a game with 15 rebounds and added four assists.

Sam Merrill led the way for Utah State with 18 points. He was joined in double figures by Daron Henson, 12, and Koby McEwen, 11.

Utah State’s biggest lead of the game came with 13 minutes left in the first half. Sam Merrill made a three-point shot to put the Aggies up six. Then the Rams went on a 32-16 run to end the half up 10.

In the second half with 14 and a half minutes left in the game, CSU had a 22 point lead. At points it looked the Aggies would make a run, as the Rams went four and a half minutes without a point and only scored nine points over a 10 minute stretch in the second half. Utah State would chip away at the lead, but never got the Rams lead to single digits until the game was in hand.
