With 23 seniors on the roster, the Rams were able to have their seniors go out on top of their last home game.

Nick Stevens was on point today. Stevens finished 26 of 32 for 305 yards and three touchdowns. Stevens completed passes to nine different receivers. He also added 28 yards rushing on six carries.

Cameron Butler was the leading receiver on the day. The freshman tight end had three catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown came on a 50-yard pass were the Spartans left him wide open.

Michael Gallup finished with seven catches for 47 yards. His lowest yards per catch average on the year. Olabisi Johnson and Dalton Fackrell added the other receiving touchdowns.

The Rams finished with 301 yards rushing on the day, with Dalyn Dawkins once again leading the way. The senior finished with 24 carries for 138 yards and a touchdown. This was Dawkins’ seventh 100-yard rushing game out of the last eight.

Freshman running back Rashaad Boddie had a good day himself. He finished with 5 carries for 44 yards and two touchdowns.

The defense performed well today. They held the Spartans to 339 yards. The defense had three sacks. And they were able to get a tip ball interception in the end zone to stop a Spartans drive.

But it did have it’s let down moments. On the Spartans first drive of the game, they were able to convert a third and eight with a 49-yard pass. The Spartans then finished of the drive with a 14-yard DeJon Packer run.

Two more low light moments for the defense happened with the game in hand for the Rams. Up 35 to seven with less than seven minutes left, the Rams allowed a 54-yard Malike Roberson touchdown run. The second moment came on the Spartans last drive of the game, where Josh Watson was called for targeting on a potential third down stop for the Rams.

The Rams now get a week off to rest up and prepare for a whichever bowl they are selected to. The Spartans will get to prepare for Wyoming, who may or may not be without Josh Allen.
