The Rams had no answer for the Razorbacks

The Colorado State Rams looked for a statement win. And it looked like they would pull off a repeat of the football team, by coming from behind to beat the Arkansas Razorbacks, but Arkansas was able to regain control and pull away for the win.

The Razorbacks bullied the Rams throughout this game. Arkansas made 17 more shots than Colorado State, had 14 more rebounds, had 12 more assists, and shot 52.1% for the game. Jalen Harris was the on-court leader for the Razorbacks. Harris finished with eight point, 12 assists, and four steals.

Razorbacks in double figures included Mason Jones (16 points), Isaiah Joe (14 points), Keyshawn Embery-Simpson (14 points), Daniel Gafford (12 points, 9 rebounds), Reggie Chaney (11 points, 8 rebounds), and Adrio Bailey (10 points, 6 rebounds).

The Rams let this game get away from them, brought it back, and then let it go again. After trailing by as many as 22, the Rams got it down to a seven point lead before the Razorbacks blew it back open. The Rams were outscored by 18 points in the paint and on second chance points.

The one good thing the Rams can take away from this game, they didn’t turn it over that much. Coming into this game, Arkansas was forcing opponents to turn the ball over 19 times a game. The Rams only turned it over nine times.

The Rams were led by J.D. Paige, who finished with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Paige had 11 of the Rams first 15 points. While he didn’t reach double figures, Kris Martin was an important distributor for the Rams. Martin finished with seven points and 8 assists.

Joining J.D. Paige in double figures were Kendle Moore (16 points), Anthony Masinton-Bonner (13 points), Nico Carvacho (12 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists), and Adam Thistlewood (10 points).

The Rams now have two days to recover before they host the Sam Houston State Bearkats at Moby Arena.
