Mark Fox Could Be The CSU Rams Next Head Coach

After a tumultuous season for the Rams, which included a climate assessment, a suspension of the head coach, a suspension of an assistant coach, and the resignation of the head coach, CSU could finally be on the way to some semblance of normal.
According to Justin Michael, Joe Parker has started negotiations with Mark Fox and his representation.
Fox was fired as the head coach of Georgia on March 10th. He spent nine years in Athens, going 163-133 overall with 2 NCAA tournament appearances. “In the end, I felt like we have not reached our full potential as a basketball program,” Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity said. “I really thought we were on the way to turning the corner this year. We just did not achieve the level of success as a program that I believe we should at the University of Georgia.”

Fox led the Bulldogs to a 18-15 overall record and 7-11 SEC record this past season. Georgia had gone to the NIT the past two seasons, but the players voted to not accept a bid to the NIT this year after Fox was fired.
Boise State, Fresno State, San Jose State, and Utah State fans will remember Fox. He coached Nevada for five seasons before leaving for Georgia. Fox ended his Wolf Pack tenure going 123-43 overall. He led Nevada to three straight NCAA appearances from 2005-2007.
Mark Fox’s first job, if he gets hired, is to recruit the current players. One player is already seeking permission to look elsewhere and others are expected to follow.
Two and a half weeks after Larry Eustachy resigned and nearly one week after Mark Fox got fired, CSU could have it’s new head coach.
