CSU DC Marty English to retire after bowl game.
The Colorado State Rams will be looking for a new defensive coordinator for next season. Current DC Marty English is going to retire after the Rams bowl game.
“I want to thank Marty English for his dedicated service to our football program and to Colorado State University,” said head coach Mike Bobo per press release.
“Marty has done an excellent job as a coach, teacher and leader of young men at Colorado State for the past six seasons, including the last three with me, and has represented us with class. He is a loyal, dedicated coach and family person, and somebody for whom I have a great deal of respect.”
English has had a 31-year coaching career, which began at the University of Northern Colorado. He has been a Defensive Coordinator for 11 of those years, three at UNC, three at Wyoming, and five in Fort Collins. English was also the Rams primary Colorado recruiter.
While at Colorado State, English coached Shaquil Barrett who won the 2013 Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year award. He has been part of coaching staffs that have led their teams to postseason play 17 times
The Rams will look to build on the foundation that Marty English built in the years to come.
The bowl destination for Colorado State has yet to be determined.
