Rams Get Grad Transfer QB
Colorado State head coach Mike Bobo has announced a graduate transfer to the CSU roster. Coach Bobo announced that K.J. Carta-Samuels will enroll in graduate studies at CSU and complete his remaining year of eligibility with the Rams.
Carta-Samuels had previously committed to spend his last year with the UCLA Bruins. However he has now decided to transfer from the Washington Huskies to the Colorado State Rams.

In his time at Washington, Carta-Samuels completed 27-of-47 passes for 310 yards and three touchdowns over 25 career appearances. He has experience in big games. In 2016, he led a scoring drive against Stanford and appeared in the College Football Playoff game against Alabama. He has some experience against the Mountain West, as he appeared as a redshirt freshman against Boise State in 2015.
Per a CSU release, Carta-Samuels was rated the No. 10 pro-style quarterback in the country by Rivals. He also was considered a top-25 prospect at the position by ESPN and Scout.com, and chose Washington over offers from Arizona, Penn State, Vanderbilt and Boise State. Alabama and Wisconsin also had interest in the first-team All-West Catholic Athletic League quarterback.
K.J. Carta-Samuels is now the presumed starter for the Rams. He is expected to bring his leadership and game knowledge to a CSU squad looking to replace a number of key starters. Rams fans can now breathe a little easier with the addition of Carta-Samuels.
