In state rivalry to end?

The annual matchup between Colorado and Colorado State men’s basketball teams may come to an end. The contract ended after last seasons game and now the The Daily Camera is reporting that Colorado head coach Tad Boyle isn’t sold on renewing the matchup between the in-state rivals.

Boyle, who is 4-4 against Colorado State and has lost three of the last four games, is in the midst of finalizing the non-conference schedule for the 2018-2019 season. With the Pac-12 looking into going to a 20 game conference schedule, Boyle must be thinking that the Buffaloes will need either better opponents to improve their RPI or easier opponents to rack up some early season wins.

Colorado State is coming off of a crazy year to say the least. They’ll have a new head coach next season and a roster that is still up in the air. One would think that Boyle would be hard pressed to find an ‘easier’ win next season.

Right now nothing is definite so time will tell.
