Colorado State added to its JUCO transfer stockpile again Monday night.
Jordan Brangers, a former Texas Tech and Western Kentucky commit, announced via Twitter that he will be headed to Colorado State.
Brangers is a premier JUCO transfer, having averaged 20.9 points per game and a 46.2% clip from three-point range last season with South Plains. Brangers is ranked #3 in JucoRecruiting’s top 100 player list for 2017. UNLV’s Shakur Juiston is first overall.
It hasn’t been the most traditional of roads to becoming a D-I player for Brangers. He originally intended in playing for Texas Tech but announced in April that he would not be attending the university due to family reasons. He said that his reason for backing out of playing for the Red Raiders was because he wanted to play closer to home. Originally, Brangers signed with Texas Tech last November.
In April, Brangers had announced his commitment to Western Kentucky. He was slated to play alongside five-star recruit Mitchell Robinson on a loaded Hilltoppers team. Then, in August, the university had announced that Brangers was no longer enrolled, citing that he had not met NCAA academic eligibility requirements.
Brangers will play at the JUCO level for the 2017-18 season before heading to Fort Collins, per reports. Once a Ram, Brangers will team up with Prentiss Nixon, J.D. Paige and ex-Oral Roberts star Kris Martin in what should be one of the league’s best back courts.
