Colorado State opens its season Friday against Sacramento State

Colorado State forward Lorenzo Jenkins will reportedly be ready to play in Friday’s season opener against Sacramento State, a source told MWC Wire Saturday.

Jenkins has been dealing with a plantar fasciitis strain, and missed Friday night’s exhibition against Colorado Mesa, which was a 86-75 Colorado State victory.

An Arkansas transfer, Jenkins sat out the 2016-17 season due to NCAA transfer eligibility rules. He expects to be a key role player for this year’s Rams team, as Jenkins is one of three players on the CSU roster that is 6-7 or taller. He is a former three-star recruit that will have three seasons of NCAA eligibility with the Rams.

Colorado State will open its regular season Friday night against Sacramento State.
