The CSU Rams Lost In Heartbreaking Fashion To Fall 0-7 Against Boise State

Colorado State looked like it was going to get its first ever victory against Boise State. And then they let up.
The Rams got out to a great start, at one point in the first half they were up 35-10. Boise slowly started to crawl back, but CSU looked to put it away after going up 14 following Jordan Fogal’s interception of Brett Rypien.
The Rams were up 52-38 with 3 minutes left in the game. They allowed Boise State to drive down the field and score a TD, recover an onside kick, and drive down the field to score a TD again in 2 minutes.
Both teams combined for over 1200 yards of offense. Both CSU and Boise had an even balance on offense.
Brett Rypien finished 23 of 43 for 331 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception. Nick Stevens finished 29 of 43 for 309 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.
For Boise State, Alexander Mattison finished with 23 carries for 242 yards and three touchdowns. For Colorado State, Dalyn Dawkins finished with 32 carries for 161 yards and two touchdowns and Rashad Boddie finished with 13 carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns.
Cedrick Wilson finished with 3 catches for 73 yards and Jake Roh finished with 5 catches for 62 yards and two touchdowns. For CSU, Michael Gallup finished with 11 catches for 102 yards and a touchdown and Dalyn Dawkins finished with 4 catches for 67 yards.
Both defense had their moments, but this was the offenses day. Boise State had two early opportunities for CSU heartbreaks, both pick sixes, one was called back due to a roughing the passer penalty and one when the defender dropped it.
Boise’s defense stepped up when it mattered and forced the Rams to fumble in overtime to win it.
Next week, CSU needs to get ready for senior day against San Jose State. And Boise State has to prepare for Air Force.
