The Broncos make a move in the latest CFP rankings

Boise State had a convincing win over Air Force this past weekend and coupled with a Michigan loss had the College Football Playoff committee move the Broncos up from 25 to 23rd in the rankings.

To be honest, the rankings mean nothing unless a team is in the top four or in the mix for a New Year’s Six bowl game. Not true, there are reasons it is great to be ranked: recruiting, coaches bonuses and respect nationally.

The ranking that really matters to the Broncos is where UCF is 15th and Memphis is 20th. A future post will breakdown of how Boise State can make it to its second New Year’s bowl game; spoiler: it will take a minor miracle.

All the Broncos can do now is look forward to beating Fresno State this week, and next, because if they want any shot at a big time bowl game a conference championships is the top priority.

Here is the complete top 25.
