College Basketball Rankings: Colorado State Moves Up Despite Not Playing
Rams getting more and more respect

CSU is almost a top 20 team
Another week goes by and the Top 25 continues to shift quite a bit. This past week featured tons of games getting postponed or canceled due to COVID-19 issues in what has become an outbreak across the NFL, NBA, and NHL as well.
The Mountain West Conference was dealt an unfortunate hand to an extent after Colorado State had two games cancelled — against Alabama and Tulsa. Both of these games were important non-conference opportunities for the Rams and for the MWC as a whole, especially since the Crimson Tide are a top 10 team this season.

So, in a weird turn of events, the Rams didn’t play a game all week – yet they moved up in the rankings to No. 21

Once again, the Rams are the only MWC school in the Top 25 or the others receiving votes category. At the moment, no other teams seem close to cracking in for some time. Wyoming and Fresno State continue to win games, albeit, against inferior opponents.
Nonetheless, the cancelation of Alabama is a tough blow for Colorado State.
Yes, they moved up the rankings without playing a single game, but this was easily their biggest test of the season – and right in time for conference play as well.
The Rams won’t play basketball until December 28 now, more than two weeks after beating Mississippi State on the road. That is also a cause for concern since they might be a bit rusty and will be thrown right into MWC play with a road game against New Mexico.
It will be another basketball-less week for Colorado State and perhaps they move up again next week.
