Broncos get revenge over Wyoming

Boise State came into their game against Wyoming off of a bye week.  Two weeks can be a long time to think about their loss to Oklahoma State or it can be a great time to get right and prepare for the remainder of their season.

It just so happens that Wyoming is coming off a bye week as well, with the main difference is they won in their last outing.  Even with that win, Wyoming had a lot to work on to improve their offense that ranks last in the Mountain West and 116th nationally.

First Quarter:

The scoring opened in both a unique and remarkable way.  Boise State received the kick and after an unsportsmanlike penalty by Wyoming on 4th and 7 to extend the drive, closed with a spectacular 13-yard touchdown run/hurdle by Alex Mattison.  In an effort to keep the early pressure off of the offensive line the Broncos focused on short passes with any real yardage coming on yards after the catch.

In the polar opposite, Wyoming’s offense came out flat mustering a grand total of 7 yards in the first quarter.  Their only highlight was a first down that came when they combined a 5 yard Nico Evans run with a delay of game penalty by Boise State. Boise State was unable to extend their lead when Haden Hoggarth was unable to convert a 39-yard field goal attempt after the Broncos recovered a fumble by Wyoming’s punter on Wyoming’s 24-yard line.

Boise State 7, Wyoming 0
