Anticipated is an understatement.

Boise State and San Jose State was to be the highlight of the Mountain West games with both teams undefeated and vying for a leg up in the championship game.

Also, the game was to be on big boy over-the-air FOX with a nice 2 p.m. MT kick time, however, COVID-19 got the best of this game and it now will not be played, per Tim Brando of FOX who was going to be on the call this afternoon in Boise.

This marks the second game in a row that has been canceled for San Jose State and the first that Boise State will not be playing. The Broncos have had a litany of players out the past few weeks due to COVID-19 and perhaps the virus just spread too much within that program, as it has across the country the past few weeks.

This is disappointing because this was to be a really good contest and the country could have finally seen how San Jose State has turned the corner, and have a shot at the blue-blood of the conference by going on the road to face Boise State.

Both teams remain undefeated and on track for a potential title game appearance by either team, but it is a shame that this matchup could not go on as planned.
